Triple M Gold Coast celebrates State of Origin with Little Legends of League

92.5 Gold FM has tapped into Queensland’s State of Origin fever to host the ultimate head-to-head clash with Triple M’s Little Legends of League match.

Going down last Friday at The Club at Parkwood Village, the event saw over 300 registrations from local Under 9s rugby players from the Gold Coast and Tweed regions, with two local teams being formed to represent NSW and Queensland.

Former NRL champions Mark Minichiello and Ash Harrison coached the respective NSW and Queensland teams for the day, with the game ending in a Queensland victory while a number of local Titans players, families and supporters cheered on.

Harrison noted the significance of the day for Gold Coast’s little leagues in the lead-up to the game.

“I just know how special it is for these young guys,” Harrison said.

“I remember being their age once and to get a chance to put on a Queensland jersey with your name on the back, I mean it doesn’t get any better than that.”

Triple M 92.5’s Breakfast hosts Bridge, Spida and Flan also threw their support behind the community initiative.

“Every kid imagines this moment in their head, all we want to do is give kids that moment,” the trio said.

“This is where legends are born, kids dream of an opportunity like this to play for their state and proudly wear the jersey.

“What an honour it is to give these local league legends that opportunity, it’s just about the love of the game.”
