Tyrone Pynor hosts new Soul show on triple j
Tyrone Pynor has been named as presenter of a new show on triple j called soul ctrl.
The new specialist show is a weekly dose of neo-soul, RNB and smooth jams every Monday night from 9pm.
Tyrone hails from the Sydney western suburb Mount Druitt and currently hosts triple j Weekend Lunch. With his roots in PNG and the Torres Strait, he is a true lover of all music.
“I’m excited for soul ctrl to be the space that teenage Tyrone wanted,” says Tyrone.
“Soul, neo-soul and R&B are such a big part of my life and it’s exciting to see a community of artists in Australia continually growing. Now, for two hours straight on a Monday night I’ll be playing you the best new music from these genres, and I can’t wait to really build something together.”
triple j’s Australian music show Home & Hosed is being moved forward by an hour and will now be heard between 8pm – 9pm Monday to Thursdays. The show is hosted by Declan Byrne and presents a snapshot of what Australia sounds like right now.
