Move over Smallzy, Tim Blackwell is officially in da house. And by da house, we actually mean Nova’s Red Room, temporarily relocated to planet Zoom.

Blackwell will host the next live stream of Nova’s popular Red Room series, with Interscope Records-signed Yungblud to perform for listeners and fans on May 8.

Radio Today understands that Kent ‘Smallzy’ Small will be on leave that week.

English singer, songwriter and actor Yungblud will perform his unique blend of “punk fury and pop melodicism”, including new single ‘Weird!’, direct from his “epic” home setup.

Listeners can win their exclusive invitation to take part in Nova’s Red Room Live Stream with Yungblud by entering at novafm.com.au and listening to Nova’s night show.

Nova’s Red Room Live Stream, made virtual by Nova’s music team to keep the tactic operational during COVID-19-induced isolation, kicked off with Conan Gray.

NOVA Entertainment’s programming and marketing chief, Paul Jackson, last month said that Red Room would continue during the pandemic with a mix of Australian and international artists.

“In these difficult times the power of music and supporting the music industry has never been more crucial,” said Jackson, who also announced UK pop sensation Dua Lipa last month.

As yet, no Australian acts have been announced to headline the Red Room Live Stream, however, Kita Alexander will open for Dua Lipa on Wednesday.
