Boom Radio returns to Perth’s Skills West Expo

North Metropolitan (Leederville) Tafe’s Boom Radio has returned again to the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre for this years Skills West Expo.

Boom Radio will be broadcasting live for three days, run by students, allowing them an opportunity to explore radio broadcasting and other potential traineeships.

The students were given the opportunity to carry out street team marketing for the station and put together an on-air campaign.

The team conducted have multiple interviews including a chat with Southern River Labor MP Terry Healy. 

Senior Lecturer Annwen Burrows believes the knowledge and expertise gained from such initiatives is invaluable for the students.

“The expo is a great experience and a chance for the team to use the skills they’ve learnt in the course in a real outside broadcast situation.”
