Broadbelt’s victims speak out

Staff Writer

Following the collapse of his latest dodgy business venture, the Paramount Agency & Touring, victims of Dene Broadbelt are lining up to reveal the extent of what has occurred.

Broadbelt (pictured), who goes by the aliases Dene Mussillon, Dene Morgan, Harrison O'Connor and Claye O'Connor, had set up the agency, which posed as a full-service artist management and tour booking agency.

Yesterday, the Electric Sun Studio in Sydney released a statement distancing themselves from Broadbelt and Paramount saying;

“We’re shocked to hear of the news but are glad that to date, there seems to be no financial losses for any artists he approached.

Having worked in the industry and being a musician myself, it perturbs me that there are people who prey on independent artists and give the professional management services industry a bad name.”

Meanwhile a young DJ from South Australia has revealed that he was signed, and dropped, by a precursor to Paramount, called the 'Elite Agency', run by Broadbelt under the alias Claye O'Connor.

Jordan Portarianos, a 16-year old year 11 student, has told The Music that he is 'crushed' by the revelations.

Speaking of when the deal was signed, Portarianos said;

“I actually cried I was just that happy, it was unreal, it was completely random I put up one of my mixes on SoundCloud and they heard it. It’s basically a dream; I didn’t think I would go far with it.”

Broadbelt, under the alias Claye O'Connor, claimed to have worked in the studio with Lady Gaga, and to be a former manager of Jimmy Barnes.

Also emerging is a claim from a Wollongong photography company who Broadbelt booked for a photo-shoot for his artists, and have not been paid the $8,500 fee for their work.

There are numerous reports on Broadbelt's antics the last couple of years, see them below;
