Footy was on the agenda on Nova 100’s Chrissie, Sam & Browny, Monday. The trio discussed all the weekend’s action including Chrissie’s beloved Richmond Tigers going down for the first time this season.

The Adelaide Crows extended their best-ever start to an AFL season by thrashing the previously-undeafeated Tigers in front of a strong crowd of 51,069.

“They took on Adelaide over there and I thought they did well to get within 13 goals,” Sam said. “A bit of a reality check.” Chrissie revealed her thoughts on the likelihood of an undefeated season: “It was never going to happen guys.”

The boys teased Chrissie in light of her over-enthusiastic reactions to their performances over the past five weeks.

“I’m not writing them off, they were very good in the first quarter,” Browny said. “Not writing them off though Swannie, you’ll still play finals but Adelaide are the best team in the comp.”

The discussion shifted to the hapless Hawthorn who, after coming back with a win against West Coast last week, went down again – this time at the hands of St Kilda.

Once the “perennial powerhouse” of the AFL, the Hawks have sunk to a new low following a number of convincing defeats. Browny was at the ground covering the game for Fox Footy and witnessed coach Alastair Clarkson losing his cool.

“I was doing a cross down at the Hawthorn rooms at halftime,” Browny started. “Alastair Clarkson was in the meeting room talking to the boys and you could clearly hear the spray he was giving the team- and it didn’t just last 30 seconds, it went for a good two or three minutes.”
