2CH announces Chris Kearns as host of new Weeknight show

Staff Writer

2CH Classic Hits Sydney is launching a new Weeknight show called ‘Sydney’s Tonight Alive’.

The station is going against the trend of pre-recorded Nights shows and have tapped Chris Kearns to host the show.

“Sydney is a big city and there is a need for people to be able to “reach out” and know someone is there for them,” said 2CH and digital channels GM Cherie Romaro.

“Chris Kearns is the perfect communicator for this role. He will read listener emails, take calls, and play some great Classic Hits from the ’60s and ’70s.”

The new show launches on February 11.

“This is my dream job, to be able to talk to listeners, listen to their stories happy, sad, loves lost, love found and play some great music. I will be there for our listeners, to have a laugh, be a shoulder to lean on, and listen to whatever they want to chat about, it’s a great privilege to be given this job and I’m so excited to be joining a such a great team,” said Chris.

The announcement follows the revelation that Bob Rogers has been replaced by Tim Webster.
