40 years of Beat the Drum

As triple j celebrates 40 years of Beat the Drum, they’re throwing open the archives to play the best live recordings, studio interviews and the moments that have shaped music over the last 40 years.

Today they kicked off 40 years of music on triple j, where at 10am and 3pm they will pick a year from 1975 to now and play the biggest tracks of that year. Live At The Wireless at midday will also feature 5 tracks every day and triple j launched an interactive page on their website to highlight the promo.

Double J is also joining by throwing The J Files to their listeners. The Double J playlist will span 40 years’ worth of stories from music fans, programmed and presented entirely by them.
