ABC's annual awards were held last night to celebrate the best of Local Radio across the 9 metro and 51 regional stations.

17 awards were presented including ‘Station of the Year’ – to 702 ABC Sydney and ‘Regional Station of the Year’ – to ABC North West WA (Karratha).

Rae Allen, Development and Design Team Leader with ABC Radio Multiplatform, won 'The Outstanding Contribution to Local Radio', an award that is only given if the Director of Radio identifies a nominee who clearly meets the criteria.

Rae is currently in charge of ABC Local’s web developers and designers.

Director ABC Radio, Kate Dundas, said…

“Once again the Local Radio Awards have showcased the breadth and depth of talent in our Local stations and on the Local website. I congratulate the winners and finalists for their work behind the microphone and behind the scenes.
