Becko becomes 2CA program director & announcer

Former Editor & Content Director

Chris ‘Becko’ Beckhouse’s next career move has been revealed, with the SCA stalwart joining 2CA in Canberra as program director and announcer.

Beckhouse had been at Southern Cross Austereo for over two decades, in roles across Brisbane’s B105, Perth’s 92.9 and Melbourne’s Fox FM.

He joined Triple M in Sydney in 2009, and had recently been program manager and Mornings announcer, however he quietly finished up earlier this month.

At the time, it was unclear what Beckhouse would do next.

This morning, however, Radio Canberra’s group program director, Peter Davidson, sent an email to staff, announcing Beckhouse’s appointment.

“Originally a Canberra lad, a much younger Becko started with 2CA/2CC as a panel op, so this is a homecoming in many ways,” the email added. “He has family based here and is a huge Canberra Raiders fan.”

Beckhouse begins his new role on Monday, August 30.

He replaces Jason Costa in the role, who returned to 2CA in January as program director and Workday presenter.
