Christie Hayes departs i98FM Breakfast

Staff Writer

Christie Hayes has called time on her stint as co-host of i98FM Breakfast.

She departs the Marty, Christie and Crammy  Breakfast Show to spend more time with her young family.

Joining i98FM in 2017, Hayes was part of the team that maintained the show’s number one rating over 3 surveys.

i98FM was her first radio gig, and she would go on to win ‘Best Newcomer On-Air’ at the 2018 Australian Commercial Radio Awards.

Hayes said she was thankful for the happiest professional experience of her life.

“Whilst I have loved every single minute of waking up with the Illawarra, I now need to wake up with my boys and focus on being a mum” she said.

“As a parent, we always have to put our children first and make decisions that are best for them and so it is with a heavy heart that I will be leaving the breakfast show”.

Lyndal Rogers will replace Hayes on Breakfast for the interim.

“All of us at i98 are very sad to see Christie go,” said i98FM Program Director Andy Huxton said.

“We will miss her energy, her laugh and the warmth that she bought to not only the show, but the entire station.”
