Mix94.5’s Clairsy, Matt & Kymba celebrate 1K shows
Dean Clairs, Matt Dyktynski and Kymba Cahill have managed to rack up 1,000 shows on Mix94.5’s The Big Breakfast.
They began as a trio on March 29 all the way back in 2016, and have racked up 23 ratings wins as Perth’s #1 commercial radio station over that time.
“There’s a special bond when you wake up at 4am five days a week and share your early mornings with the same two people,” said Dean ‘Clairsy’ Clairs, whose radio career spans over 37 years, including 20 years at Mix.
“They’re my second family and I’ve always considered myself lucky that I get to do my mornings with Kymba and Matt.
“Especially since they make me cups of tea while I’m busy panelling the show! To celebrate 1000 shows with them is definitely a milestone in my career.”
Clairsy, Matt & Kymba have also given away over $1,000,000 worth of cash and prizes to Perth listeners over the 1,000 shows.
“I remember when Matt auditioned to join Clairsy and Kymba for our new breakfast show, and I knew we had a winning combination,” head of Mix94.5 content, Erica McGee, said.
“For me, being part of their team, and seeing them develop and become the show they are today, makes me really proud. We’ve had some really great times together.”
WA Premier Mark McGowan also weighed in, joking: “1000 shows, my goodness. What happened on the 565th show?”
