Fitzy & Wippa are taking on the PM in backyard cricket

Staff Writer

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has invited Nova 96.9 Breakfast hosts Fitzy and Wippa to a game of backyard cricket at Kiribilli House.

It won’t just be any game though, with the contest to raise money for a charity called Batting For Change, which assists the education of disadvantaged women in cricket-playing nations.

Fitzy and Wippa put the request in to the PM last time he was on the show, and now ‘Scomo’ has given the game the green light to take place on Friday November 23.

The PM will play, as well as a group of yet-to-be-announced greats of the game, and some cricket-loving celebrities.

“We play cricket with countries all around the world who are less fortunate,” said PM Morrison.

“Sport is a great way for people to get involved. This charity helps women in countries like Sri Lanka for example, it is tremendous.

“Watch out for Buddy the dog he will be looking forward to it, you just have to be careful he doesn’t take the ball as you won’t get it back. He’ll be in the slips.”
