Former radio host Alana McLean lands new TV anchor gig

Staff Writer

Radio broadcaster and ACRA winner Alana McLean has joined online TV startup Ticker.

McLean, who joins as an anchor, will host new show Ticker Newsroom, on-air daily at 2pm.

Ticker is a streaming platform covering the world of business, money and tech. It was launched August 2019 by former Sky News host Ahron Young.

“Alana is a well-established broadcaster who has been part of the Ticker family so she was the obvious choice for the role,” he said.

Ticker is expanding its live news and analysis programming with two extra live news shows a day, focusing on the business impact from coronavirus, Spotee on Ticker with Elio D’Amato will and Ticker Newsroom with McLean.

“Live broadcasting is in our DNA and we want to be the voice of business and startups during this crucial period, no matter how or when they tune into Ticker content.”

McLean joins fellow SCA favourite Ryan Jon, who oversees social media at Ticker.
