The content director of KIX Country, Justin Thomson, has been nominated for the International Country Broadcaster Award at the CMA International Awards.

Thomson is up against broadcasters from Canada, Sweden and the UK in the category which seeks to recognise a radio broadcaster or syndicated radio reporter who has made important contributions to the development of country music in their nation.

The KIX Country Radio Network broadcasts in 21 markets across all of Australia’s states and territories, as well as via the KIX Country app.

Thomson has been with the Grant Broadcasters-owned network since 2016. Prior to that he was the anchor of Dead Set Legends on Mix 94.5 in Perth as well as presenting weekend music shifts.

David Greenwood, general manager of the KIX Country Radio Network, noted Thomson’s ongoing contributions.

“We are very proud of Justin being nominated and it’s recognition of his tireless efforts and dedication to his craft. Justin’s contribution to our KIX Country brand couldn’t be recognised in a more fitting manner than this,” he said.

The Awards will take place in November in Nashville.
