An emotional Kyle & Jackie O react to 60 Minutes interview
An emotional Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson addressed their 60 Minutes interview on their top-rating breakfast radio show on Monday.
“Inside I’m very sad,” Sandilands admitted on-air, after backlash from viewers over his illness prank that had Henderson visibly in tears.
Filmed over a six-month period in both Sydney and Los Angeles, editors teased a clip last week in which Sandilands appeared prepped to reveal a “health battle”.
But it was all in jest, with the shock jock attempting to make light of his health battles and low blood pressure that he says has plagued him for years.
The interview with Karl Stefanovic, organised by KIIS FM to promote that pair’s 20th radio anniversary, included revealing joint and individual sit-downs.
They touched on key moments from their record-breaking time in radio, including the scandals that rocked them and their departure from 2Day FM.
Nine network won Sunday with 31.2%, helped in part by the return of The Voice.
The 60 Minutes program pulled 698,000 overnight metro viewers, with 225,000 onlookers watching from Sydney, followed by Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.
