Luke Lum & Carley Whittington on Hit Network’s regional Workdays

Staff Writer

SCA has announced Luke Lum & Carley Whittington as the new Workday duo across the Hit Network’s regional stations.

Luke & Carley’s respective new gig means they’ll be heard across 27 regional markets.

Luke has been heard on Workdays in Townsville since 2014, and will broadcast from 9am-10am for the next three months.

Carley has been with the Hit Network since 2015 and will be heard from 10am-3pm until November, when the shift will be taken by Maddy Rowe.

“This is a huge opportunity and I’m really looking forward to being able to share my passion for music with the rest of regional Australia,” said Luke.

Carley added; “What an exciting opportunity to entertain-and hopefully not distract- regional Australia on the Hit Network while they work. Keep an ear out for the occasional Kath & Kim joke.”

Maddy will relocate from Melbourne to Townsville to take the gig in November.

“I’m beyond excited to be joining the team at Hit 103.1 Townsville, and equally (if not more excited) to be escaping Melbourne’s freezing cold winter,”

“Townsville is hot, sweaty and beautiful, and exactly where I need to be. This is a huge opportunity and I’m ready to thrive in this new chapter of my life.

“I started my radio journey in community radio in Melbourne less than two years ago, and scoring an on-air role with SCA was always a big dream of mine. I’m still pinching myself.”

Luke & Carley can be heard on the Hit Network in the following markets: Cairns, Coffs Harbour, Fraser Coast, Griffith, Mackay/Whitsunday, Mildura, Mount Isa, Mt Gambier, Orange, Port Macquarie, Shepparton, Mt Buller, Townsville, Wagga Wagga.

In addition, Carley’s workday shift can be heard on in Hit Network in: Albury, Bendigo, Mareeba, Central QLD, Dubbo, Emerald, Gippsland, Toowoomba, Dalby, Kingaroy, Roma, Stanthorpe, Warwick.

Again regional content further disappears…..and those regions miss out on true local content..its a shame regional listeners are treated poorly or like fools just to save a couple of bucks. We already have very limited choices in terms of what we can listen too….more of the same boaring stuff no doubt. Hit Regional needs to lift….I keep hearing the same station ID’s over and over again at least freshen them up
