Maz Compton reveals how she got fired from 2Day FM in new book

Staff Writer

Radio host and entertainment personality Maz Compton found out she was getting fired from her brekkie gig at 2Day FM from reading a newspaper article.

The 37-year-old reveals all the details of the bizarre situation, as well as other career highs and lows, in her new self-published book, ‘UnEdited’, which is available today on Amazon.

Ultimately, her fate at 2Day FM was confirmed that same morning via a phone call, and like everyone else, Compton found out who was replacing her “later that day via shared story on my Facebook newsfeed.”

Rove McManus and former Bachelorette Sam Frost ended up stepping into the shift dubbed radio’s “poisoned chalice”. It didn’t last long, however, with SCA booting the pair from the prime time slot after only a couple of months, to be replaced by current hosts Em Rusciano and Harley Breen.

“I was thanked for efforts on speaker phone and told I was not continuing on the breakfast show the following year,” Compton recalls.

Compton admits in her book that she “didn’t want it to end”, but confessed that a career path never turns out as expected.

After a stint working at MTV Australia, Compton now runs F45 branches in Sydney and the New South Wales Central Coast with her husband.
