Robin, Terry & Bob launch search for Brisbane’s next young music stars

Staff Writer

Australian Radio Network’s (ARN) 97.3FM Breakfast show, Robin, Terry & Bob, has launched a search for Brisbane’s brightest young musical stars.

The young talent the competition unearths will then be put together in ‘The Band Brisbane Built’.

The station has enlisted music industry mentors and special guests to help build the band and create their ultimate sound.

Co-host Robin Bailey noted it can be a challenge to keep kids in music.

“I tried everything to keep my boys playing music especially going into high school, but sadly all three gave up music for soccer,” she said. “If I can convince one kid to keep with their instrumental or singing because they hear our 97.3 band, then I have done my job.”

Terry Hansen, meanwhile, highlighted the power of radio.

“Radio is a magical place,” he said. “A portal that connects you with the artists you love singing the sings of your life. I love that we are using radio to give young Brisbane musos an opportunity to step into that world and make musical magic.”

Bob Gallagher added: “I’m excited to see Brisbane kids sharing their musical talent with 97.3 listeners and eventually the world.”

People aged 18 and under who are interested in joining the super group can find out more information and enter here.
