Sam Pang’s one-man crusade to get Kesha played on Nova 100
Sam Pang has been on a one-man crusade to get Kesha’s ‘Praying’ played on Nova 100.
Last week, Chrissie Swan talked about Kesha during her celebrity news segment and later discussed Pang’s campaigning of music boss Scott Baker-Smith to get ‘Praying’ on-air.
They called out for Baker-Smith to ring through to the Chrissie, Sam & Browny show to discuss Sam’s influence on music programming.
Swan asked, “Is it true that Sam Pang was instrumental in getting Kesha’s ‘Praying’ on-air?”
“Yes 100%, can confirm,” said Baker-Smith, “he Molly Meldrumed it.”
Browny said, “I like the illusion [Pang] restored Kesha to the top of charts because he got her playing on Nova, is that actually true?
“Did she trend upwards on the charts after we played her regularly on Nova?”
Baker-Smith confirmed it was, in fact, true, saying that it wasn’t “made up”.
“I thought Scotty was going to come on and say no that’s not the case but he’s actually just admitted defeat, he was asleep at the wheel,” said Pang.
“There was this banger going on that I was hearing, why aren’t we playing this on breakfast. You famously said it’s a bit slow. I said, ‘listen here you suit’.”
