See it, Shazam it
Shazam has expanded its music discovery app to now include visual recognition.
While not entirely new in the space, the new iOS and Android app update means you can now Shazam images whenever you see their camera logo or a QR code. It will then load up mobile experiences, including interactive content, special offers, and the ability to purchase items, or share them with others.
Already a number of overseas platforms have launched the new feature in their marketing mix including Disney for movies and publishers like the Wall Street Journal and Harper Collins.
Here, SCA and Shazam have a strategic partnership with the Shazam Top 20. That launched back late last year and SCA will more than likely explore new marketing opps as the See it, Shazam it ramps up. More here.
