Ugly Phil gets horny

Staff Writer

The Central Coast is arguably the biggest commuter market per capita in Australia with 33% of employed Central Coast residents commuting daily to Sydney for employment.

This means petrol prices 'bite' harder on the Coast than most markets. It also means residents spend a disproportionate amount of time in their cars. Given that, Star 104.5 and Ugly Phil became inspired by The Voice and held a talent quest for 'Coasties' cars.

Contestants were required to play their car horns to songs from the Star playlist – Highway to Hell, Smoke on the water, to win the cash. Phil conducted blind auditions from the Star carpark in Erina live to air, selecting the winner of 'Blow your own horn'.

With the Central Coast now in survey, it is a battle for top of mind recall amongst all the local stations. Survey results will be released on 20 June.
