Radio Today & The Music Network reveal internal promotions, welcome new reporter

Staff Writer

Take 2 Media, the publisher of trade titles  Radio Today and The Music Network,  has announced a number of staffing changes across its commercial and editorial teams.

Take 2 Media’s editor, Vivienne Kelly, has been promoted to content director. She joined the business last September from Mumbrella and has overseen record audience growth for the B2B network.

As part of the changes Take 2 Media’s publisher, Jake Challenor, has stepped down as content director to launch a PR/ comms consultancy for music, media and technology businesses.

He will continue to lead sponsorships for all awards programs, including an expanded music business awards, the 2021 TMN Tinnies, which kicks off in September.

In her new role, effective immediately, Kelly is responsible for overseeing all editorial and content across Take 2 Media’s digital channels, including all daily and weekly email newsletters.

Kelly has launched two newsletters this year. Podcasting Today is sent to Radio Today subscribers each Monday, and TMN Live is sent to The Music Network subscribers each Friday.

Kelly and Challenor will continue to co-host Radio Today Tonight and the all-new TMN Talks podcasts together. Both are published every Thursday and are available everywhere.

Kelly can be reached at [email protected].

Take 2 Media’s campaign manager, Brian Lawlor, has also been promoted to partnerships director. He joined the business in 2020 from Jaden Digital, where he was agency director.

Lawlor is responsible for overseeing all commercial partnerships and awards programs across The Music Network and Radio Today, including the 30 Under 30 Awards across both titles.

Lawlor was behind the hugely successful launch of the 2021 Radio Today Podcast Awards with LiSTNR this year, and is currently preparing two new awards initiatives to be unveiled soon.

Lawlor can be reached at [email protected].

Joining the editorial team as a reporter for The Music Network and Radio Today is Will Brewster, who is based in Melbourne. He joins the business from Furst Media, where he was the digital editor of Australia’s leading musical instrument and audio technology publication, Mixdown Magazine.

Brewster can be reached at [email protected].

In the 2021 financial year Take 2 Media delivered in excess of 5.2 million page views, up over 28% on the previous period of July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020.

I’m very happy for Vivienne but I hope this promotion will mean she still has time to reply to idiot commentators because I LOVE her commentary and when she puts ‘em in their place?!

Viv, please ensure that’s still on your job description because I will miss the LOLs

Always nice to hear from my fans!

I promise to always prioritise sass over emails and life admin. Negotiating to get it in the contract now.

    Thanks for the support,
